PA); Alice, 19, bookkeeper in clothing store; Rutherford, 17, draftsman at steel plant; Jefferis, 16, son, errand boy at grocery store; Grace, 14; May, 12; Samuel, 6; Harold, 3 8/12; Laura, 2. All children b. DE.

Alvin started Lank Woodworking company in Wash. D.C. in the late 1800's or early 1900's, and after a while, he asked Rutherford to come down from Wilmington, DE to help out with the financial management and accounting. So Rutherford moved with his family in the 1920's.

Lank Woodworking was used on the renovations to the Whitehouse and they used the recovered lumber to make stools and mementos.
