William Jefferis "Jeff" Lank (II)

Member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, class of 1925, University of Delaware, "Jeff" met and fell in love with Anna Blocher Davis, who was best friends with his younger sister, Florence May Lank. He was 4 years older than "Anne." It was over the many visits and dinners to the Lank household, that Anne fell in love with Jefferis Lank, May’s older brother. She told me her first kiss was one time when Jeff walked her home.

He graduated in May 1926 (25?) and worked for Pepco. (Potomac Electric Power Co.). He was 24 and she 20 when the married. Their first house was 1001 Taylor St. NE, Wash DC near Michigan Park for 11 years. In 1938 they bought a home at 3276 Arcadia Place, N.W. Washington, D.C. and Anne lived there until a few years before her death. His life insurance paid off the house.



Rev. Spense, Jeff's cousin, performed the wedding ceremony. They took the train to DC and stayed at the Harrington Hotel for their honeymoon and went to the National Theater and say Kate Smith.

Jeff was 49 years old when he died on 16 Nov. 1952 of a brain aneurism.
